Lake Ōhau Lodge

The Lake Ōhau Lodge Masterplan was developed by the GCA Studio team to significantly expand the short- and medium-stay accommodation offering at the base of one of the South Island’s most established club ski fields. The proposal sought to strengthen the area’s tourism infrastructure while supporting year-round visitor activity and future growth.

The masterplan incorporated a range of accommodation typologies, anchored by a new 100-key hotel designed to enhance visitor capacity and broaden the destination’s appeal. Particular emphasis was placed on creating a cohesive alpine village character and improving guest amenities.

The project demonstrates GCA Studio’s capability in tourism masterplanning, integrating hospitality, recreation and destination development within a unique alpine environment.
